Ode to mom

Ode to mom - Susanna's life poems
I thank the Lord for my dear Mom
My comfort haven she had made
Where growing up brought memories
Of joy and laughter without charades
Her soft firm gaze she kept all times
As she ensured my safety plight
No harm had ever come to me
As she embraced me with delight
I do recall her hand on mine
She pointed out the wrong from right
With much precautions I’ve been taught
Her guiding voice became my light
My mom and me, throughout the years
Like old worn pages torn apart
Opposing visions crept like vine
As hurtful words had pierced our hearts
The sacrifice she did for me
Without a care I just ignored
Until the stabs of life came fast
And parenthood I soon explored
My sweet old mom, her hair now gray
Grew lines of wisdom on her face
I’m here now wishing time turns back
To glue the pages and leave no space
I thank the Lord for my dear Mom
Whose loving hands gave me her best
My mentor, protector and my friend
The priceless gift of life’s success.
