My Missing Piece
I glanced once more where my bosom laid
Where hidden bliss was once a friend
And angels lips found nurture there
Old lovers craved the warm embrace
Now it’s gone forevermore
As flesh was taken from the core
A scar had marked a lonely path
A sole reminder of the past
It is relief or is it grief?
The longing for my youth I keep
The thief that robbed my womanhood
Had no idea where I stood
Here I sing my ballad songs
Tears and gladness both belong
In farewell chants where illness left
A growing promise will be kept
Where hidden bliss was once a friend
And angels lips found nurture there
Old lovers craved the warm embrace
Now it’s gone forevermore
As flesh was taken from the core
A scar had marked a lonely path
A sole reminder of the past
It is relief or is it grief?
The longing for my youth I keep
The thief that robbed my womanhood
Had no idea where I stood
Here I sing my ballad songs
Tears and gladness both belong
In farewell chants where illness left
A growing promise will be kept
